Regenerative Ranching
On nearly 250 acres in the Youngs River Valley, we graze native coastal grass supplemented with Italian ryegrass. We rotate cattle to fresh pasture regularly. Each pasture recovers and improves over time.
What we built to make it work
- Water lines
- We installed more than two miles of water line over two summers, to support the grazing rotation.
- Fencing
- Permanent high-tensile fence marks the main pastures. Portable electric fence gives us room to adjust the grazing plan as conditions change.
- Rest between grazings
- Managed grazing and rest periods give pastures time to recover, which supports soil health.
